Before we discuss the main topic, we would like all current and future FootWorks customers to know that we’ve tweaked our business hours for the fall. The new hours are as follows:
Monday – Friday: 10 am to 7 pm
Saturday: 8:30 am to 5 pm
Sunday: 12 pm to 4 pm
That being said, today we’d like to talk about the upcoming Heat.Help.Cure. Dribble Drive Against Cancer event happening on November 14 at the American Airlines Arena. This event is a Miami Heat, Baptist Health South Florida, and Entercom radio partnership aimed at raising always important funds to assist the Miami Cancer Institute non-profit in achieving its goal of a cancer-free goal. Cancer remains the second-leading cause of death in the United States and about one in two men and one in three women will receive a cancer diagnosis during their life.
The Dribble Drive is a 13.3 challenge comprising the 3.3-mile “Dribble Drive” as well as “Dribble Dash” around the perimeter of American Airlines Arena. It’s worth noting that the event is not a race as participants are encouraged to walk the route via the sidewalks and paths as they dribble a basketball. Police will provide escorts to manage street crossings and ensure safety to all participants.
